More Bedroom Talk

Miranda is adjusting to sleeping in her big girl bed, but fight's going to bed. The other night she was pushing her stroller around. Then when we said to get in bed let's read. She tried to pull her stroller into bed to, then couldn't get the stroller into bed. Well finally she got it in there then decided to put her piggy bank in the stroller too.

On Miranda's birthday Daddy had the day off and mommy took the day off to take Miranda back to the Academy of Sciences. Miranda had a great time. She really enjoyed playing in the kid play area. Miranda loved looking at a turtle that was enjoying breakfast.

Daddy and I can't believe how quickly time flies by. We can't believe you are two years old. We are amazed with you everyday. You learn so quickly and we look back a week ago and you were not doing what you were now. You are so smart and learn so quickly. You are even counting in Chinese. Amazing!

Continued discussion of Big Girl Bed

Okay, it has been two nights that Miranda has slept in her big girl bed. We found that starting the nightly routine at 7:00 before she get's to tired has worked well. By the time we get Miranda is bathed ready to read we are about 7:30 we read for about a half hour, Miranda loves to read her books and also sleep with them. So, this is the new part that mommy and daddy are learning about just have to chuckle about. We do our normal nite nite hand shake, High Five, Knuckle, and a big KISS and blow kisses! You have picked up on this and now say "no". So mommy and daddy are now leaving the room and say, sweet dreams. You cry bloody murder and scream at the top of your lungs! Mommy! Daddy! as we leave the room. We close the lights, the door, and the hallway gate. (sounds terrible and feels terrible) Mommy and daddy close all the lights and any sounds in the house. The last two nights you have come out of your room screaming, but what really is your new thing of going back to your room and slamming on door! But all and all, Miranda has climbed back into her bed and falls asleep till between 7 and 7:30! So, all in all you are getting a very fun night sleep and so are we finally! Four for days till Miranda is 2! Time is flying by!

Transition to big girl bed

The same weekend of Miranda's 2nd bday party we started Miranda in her big girl bed. The week before Miranda pulled herself out of her bed and hung off the side to get out in the middle of the night. She learned pretty quickly that once she could get out of her bed that she could open her bedroom door and then get to mommy and daddy's room too. After Mommy and Daddy had a few nights of this we decided to take the front off of her bed so she didn't end up with a broken arm or something else. Her first night went okay, she fell asleep in her bed but she woke up on the floor with a pillow and blanket. Once this happened Miranda wouldn't go to sleep in her bed, so we would do our normal routine and read and wait for her to fall asleep to put her in bed, but she kept escaping from her room in the middle of the night. So then we decided to get a bed rail up on the toddler bed, put of a gate in the hallway so she couldn't get to mommy and daddy's room we found we were getting somewhere with her sleeping in her big girl bed. After this she was resisting staying in bed, but we have a bribery system in place. Miranda get's a sticker in the morning when she stays in bed for the night. It has worked for two night's. Gurr! But now Miranda usually get's out of her bed and cries once we put her down to bed, then realizes no one is coming to put her in bed and then climbs back into her bed and has been sleeping through the night. It has been a rough week and a half transitioning her into her big girl bed. Hope we can keep it going.

This year we celebrated my 2nd birthday early. Yeh Yeh had surgery yesterday so we wanted to make sure he could come. Last Saturday was a beautiful day at the park. We celebrated at Morris Park. There were alot of other parties and tee ball. We saw all of friends and relatives, it was a wonderful day!

During Mommy's finals week Daddy and Miranda went to the Park with Lilly and Kathy. They had fun playing at the park looking at pizza boxes, eatting ice cream and sitting on the big cow in the park.

Miranda and her friend Jakob were able to hang out the a couple weekends ago while mommy and Jakob's mommy went to a baby shower. Here are some cute pics of the two of them.
