Okay another time flys post!

Ty Ty with the Great Grandchildren
Miranda's 2nd Birthday with Ty Ty and Cousin Megan

Ty Ty's 93rd Birthday

I have been terrible about updating my blog of Miranda. Now I'm in my last nine weeks of school so I should be able to work on the blog alot more.

December was a very busy month, not only were the holidays busy but Miranda's Ty Ty Gong passed away after a long life of 94 years. The holidays were definitely not what we anticipated but we all realize she had a wonderful long life and Keenan and I are happy that Miranda was able to meet her Ty Ty Gong. We are bummed that we didn't get photos with everyone for Thanksgiving with Miranda and Ty Ty but we did have a great time with Ty Ty the Saturday before she had a major stroke.

Yikes I can't believe how time flys!

Wow! Miranda is going to be two and half next month and I can't believe how she has developed into a little lady. A major accomplishment has come in this last week. Last weekend, we spent at home going pee pee on the potty. We went from the diapers to panties! Last week at school, Miranda was dry everytime they took her to put her on the potty. They suggested if we were ready to start the potty training with panties give it a go. We have been doing the training with just diapers, but now is the true test moving to the panties. Over the weekend she did well. We only had one accident a day. Both days it was of course towards the end of the day when Keen, Miranda and I just lost track of when the last time we went.

Okay, Monday we took Miranda to school and had the talk about telling her teachers when she needed to go pee pee on the potty. She did great! No accidents Monday, Tuesday and Thursday! Wednesday and Friday we had poop issues but made it to the potty for pee! What a great week! Miranda is doing very well. Okay now for the true test, can we take Miranda out to run arrands on the weekend and be able to keep up with the potty breaks. Wow! What a chore! Every stop we went to the bathroom, everytime we left a place we went to the bathroom. The funny thing about it was she went everytime. I have to say, she was a little scared of the auto flush systems at first. The first time we went into a bathroom she sat down and then it flushed and she jumped right off! Thank god she wasn't peeing yet. We had a couple accidents where she told me she had to go and then didn't make it there in time, but she did tell us which was great. The major accomplishment......poop on the potty. Of all places we were shopping in Macy's and she told us she had to poop. Off we went, and she sure did and sat patiently till she was all done. It was funny, Keenan keep asking her if she was done and she kept telling him, I'm not done daddy! Business was taken care of... What a major accomplishment! Just in a week. I'm sure the next month will bring more accidents, but the start of potty training has been pretty smooth sailing.

I can't believe I'm posting about potty training. I never thought I would be talking about this so much, but I'm so proud of Miranda, she has become such a little lady.

Disneyland

The first day in LA we heading to Disneyland. Miranda loved riding on the all the rides at Disneyland this trip. She had a chance to ride on the Dumbo ride, Rocket's and loved to shoot the monsters on the BuzzLightyear ride. She enjoyed the jungle ride and loved watching the dance party parade on Main Street. Miranda also had here 1st visit to Mickey's House. She talked a good game and said she wanted to see Mickey and take a picture with him. Well, once we saw Mickey she changed her mind. She was happier just playing around toontown cheesing for daddy.

Yes it is almost Sept!

Look and me and my "Wopiscle"

I can't believe how time flys so quickly. I have just finished my sixth course for my master's program. Unfortunately I have not been able to keep up with blogging. So today I took my final and did a final presentation and can sit down and get some blogging on what Miranda is up to in August.

From the beginning of August every weekend we had a birthday party to attend! We had cousin Morgan's 1st birthday the first weekend of August. Cousin Megan's birthday the second weekend in August followed by a wonderful Kim Water's concert and cousin Reese's 1st birthday the third weekend in August! Then the third week of August we headed to Southern California to get some more California rays and more fun at Disneyland! The best part about this month was Grammy stayed with us and had a chance to have a fun time with Miranda while she was out of school for the summer.

Miranda's vocabulary is going leaps and bounds. Miranda is putting together sentences to ask for items she wants or telling us if she likes or dislikes. Miranda is definitely growing up to be very independent know. She continues to tell Keenan and I that she will do it. Keenan and I are still continue to get Miranda introduced to the potty. Miranda has been doing a good job. She is great at sitting on the potty. She goes pees on the potty occassionally at home and at school. She is gradually but surely going to get it soon. We have a sticker incentive for her and a chart that she tracks her ability to go pee pee on the potty.

She loves popsicles or she calls them "wopicles" . After our dress up session with her Snow White dress she loves to blow dry her hair so she looks like Snow White. The fairy princess dress is so cute, Miranda wanted us to pick her up so she could fly like a fairy princess. :)

Miranda also loves to take pictures. She says "cheese" alot to get her picture taken and then wants to see the picture. Miranda loves all her bunnies, so in this chase whe wanted to take pictures with her bunny.

Trip to Los Angeles

The fourth of July weekend we made our second trip with Miranda for the long haul. This trip went very smooth. Keenan, Miranda and I left at 5 o'clock and arrived in Fullerton at 1 in the morning. Miranda was a great passenger, we didn't even bring a DVD player. Mommy and Miranda read books, sang songs, danced in our seats and played alot of "I spy" games. We spent our first day at Disneyland. Miranda enjoyed the Nemo ride, Autotopia, It's a Small World, Alice and Wonderland Ride, the tea cups, and Dr. Toad's wild ride. Miranda loved ToonTown. She had an opportunity to take pictures with Goofy and Minnie. We rode on the RogerRabbit's ride and visited Goofy, Donald, and Minnie's homes. All of this was accomplished with Miranda being very patient in line and waited her turn. This was a very exciting day for all of us. Keenan and I saw Disneyland from a different view and can't wait to go back with Miranda.
